Welcome to El Gato en Casa. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) explain how you may use our website and services. By visiting our site, creating an account, booking a service, or (in future) purchasing products, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, you should not use our site.

1. Who Can Use Our Site

4. Our Services

We provide access to pet care services, including:

  • Pet sitting (dogs, cats, and small animals)

  • Dog walking

  • Grooming

  • Boarding and daycare

  • Training

  • Veterinary care (at select locations)

  • House sitting

Services are provided either by El Gato en Casa or by independent third-party providers who are responsible for the delivery of their services. Availability may vary by location.


5. Future Online Store

In the future, we will offer pet products such as food, treats, and accessories. When launched:

  • You will only be able to order products in stock.

  • Unused, unopened products may be returned within 7 days of receipt (in original packaging).

  • Certain items (e.g. opened food, health products) cannot be returned.

  • A minimum order value may apply to support our sustainability efforts (fewer shipments, less waste).


6. Payments

  • All payments are processed securely by Stripe.

  • We accept major credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other local methods supported by Stripe.

  • Service bookings are paid in advance.

  • For recurring services (e.g. weekly walks), payment is due monthly in advance.

  • Late or missed payments may incur fees as set out in our policies.

  • Credit card payments may carry a 4% processing fee.


7. Cancellations & Refunds

Services

  • Cancellation policies differ by service (see full policy on our site).

  • Late cancellations or no-shows may result in fees.

  • Completed services are non-refundable.

Products (future store)

  • Returns accepted within 7 days for unused, unopened items.

  • No returns on opened food, supplements, or health items.


8. Using Our Site

You may use our site for personal purposes only. You agree not to:

  1. Use the site for resale or commercial exploitation without our consent.

  2. Copy, modify, or attempt to reverse engineer our site.

  3. Collect or scrape data, or use automated tools to access our site.

  4. Upload content that is abusive, illegal, or infringes on rights.


9. Intellectual Property

All content on El Gato en Casa (text, images, branding, design) is owned by us or our partners. You may use it for personal purposes only. You may not copy, reuse, or distribute content without written permission.


10. Community & User Content

When our community forum launches, you may post content such as messages, reviews, or articles. By posting, you grant El Gato en Casa a license to display and share that content. We may remove content that is offensive, misleading, or against our guidelines.


11. Third-Party Providers

Many services are delivered by independent providers (sitters, walkers, groomers, vets, trainers). El Gato en Casa connects you with them but does not guarantee or insure their performance. Providers are responsible for their own services.


12. Limitation of Liability

  • We aim to provide reliable services, but we cannot guarantee availability or that everything will always run without issues.

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, El Gato en Casa is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service or product in question.


13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless El Gato en Casa, its directors, employees, and partners from any claims arising from misuse of the site, breach of these Terms, or violation of law.


14. Ending or Changing Services

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. We may also change or discontinue services at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.


15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be handled in UK courts unless local laws require otherwise.


16. Updates to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on our site. Continued use of our site means you accept the updated Terms.
